In this one-time lesson students will learn how to draw cityscapes and architecture using the 2-point perspective method. This is a great lesson to support young artists in improving their drawing skills and learning a new technique! Here is a breakdown of what to expect in this lesson: - Greetings/ Introductions - Introduction to the art method and short demo - Guided step by step instruction - Conversation and drawing time - Share & Goodbye This will be an interactive lecture which involves the artists to look, listen and participate in creating their own work of art. No previous knowledge is needed, just a passion for drawing! Just be sure to have a sketchbook or blank paper, as well as drawing materials like pencils, erasers, pencil crayons or markers. We also need a ruler, or some sort of straight edge. * Please take into consideration that every artist works at their own pace. Students may not always have a full image completed by the end of our lesson, but they will have learned a new artistic technique! I would love to encourage each artist to continue to work on their images after class time is over. And of course, if students would like to share, please post images of their finished work in the classroom!
Learning Goals
Students will learn to understand how to use 2-point perspective method. They will learn about the importance of the rule of thirds and the use of horizon lines in an art piece.

Hi there!
My name is Erica! I am an enthusiastic and creative teacher who is so excited for the opportunity to share my passions with my students!
A bit about me; I have a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Arts and a Masters in Art Therapy, so to say that the Creative Arts are important to me would be a huge understatement! Along with studying art/art therapy, I have over 15 years experience working directly with children and providing artistic lessons with a variety of mediums and art techniques. In fact, my whole life my goal has always been to provide young students with a strong foundation in the elements of art in a way that is fun and engaging. The reason this is my goal is that it is my firm belief that artistic practices are a fundamental way to encourage students to think outside the box; a skill which I find to be invaluable for development!
Whether teaching simple arts and crafts to younger kids, and/or teaching more advanced art theory to middle/high school students, I look forward to guiding each individual student in their own artistic and creative journey.
Along with art, I teach of variety of world geography classes that encompass my passion for travel. My World Explorers series cover locations in every continent of the globe! I have been a traveling the world for the last 8 years and I have been lucky enough to travel to 15 countries and live in Australia, Italy, and Croatia! I love to share my passion for the world travel with young children - it continuously inspires me to see them be excited about the places they want to travel!
Some fun facts about me:
- I am from Canada, but I have lived in Australia, Italy, and Croatia.
- I have a blue belt in Karate - I used to be a karate teacher too!
- My first time on a plane I was just 9 days old!
