Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi there! I help families create more peaceful spaces in their homes so that they can bring more joy and connection into their lives.
I am a certified KonMari consultant and a member of the National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals (NAPO)—holding certificates in household management, residential organizing and life transitions. Prior to organizing, my career focused on international education, specifically advising international students in the U.S. and administering exchange programs, and I have experience as a tutor/mentor to teens. I enjoy supporting people when they are making brave choices in their lives, whether that's studying in another country or tackling clutter that feels overwhelming.
Tidying up with kids can help them to develop lifelong skills and give them a sense of control over their lives, especially at a time right now when there is so much outside of our control. I believe that kids want to be involved in taking responsibility for their belongings and their space at home, and I help them learn steps to do this. It's a little different from the usual "go clean your room" routine where belongings might get stuffed or tucked away to make a room "look" clean for a short time. We start by discussing their ideal space, what they are doing in their spaces right now and how they want their spaces to feel. The categories in the KonMari Method™ are the framework that we use to tidy up spaces in a particular order (clothes-books-paper-miscellaneous-sentimental).
I am a mom to a 4 year boy and have started early teaching him about tidying up. It's not always perfect in our home, though we can get it back to a peaceful place quickly using the skills I've learned. We have a Boston Terrier dog, and we enjoy walks in nature and listening to silly songs at loud volumes.
