🎨OVERVIEW
Color is the heartbeat of a space and greatly influences whether a room feels bland and boring versus alive and vibrant.  In this 4-part class series on color, industry secrets will be revealed.  Students will learn the tips and tricks that interior designers use to create aesthetically pleasing spaces.  Additionally, students will be introduced to important color principles and concepts that will expand and deepen their understanding of interior design.  Finally, aspiring designers will receive teen friendly, relevant, and real-world knowledge that will make their design ambitions a reality.

🎨CLASS STRUCTURE
During each class an industry secret will be revealed along with additional tips and tricks that interior designers use to transform spaces.  A room design challenge will be made available to students during class. This challenge is optional for students to complete.

1st Class -   "Unlocking Color Theory”
2nd Class - "Color…It’s a Vibe”
3rd Class - "Creating an Eye-Catching Color Palette”
4th Class - "Bring in the Color”

🎨Class 1:  "Unlocking Color Theory"
During class, students will be introduced to fundamental color principles and concepts that will expand and deepen their understanding of interior design.  Some topics discussed include:  

-Color Theory
-The Color Wheel
-Dimensions of Color

🎨Class 2:  "Color …It’s a Vibe”
Students will discover how color selection in design impacts the mood or “feel” of a space. Additional topics discussed include:

-Color Psychology
-A “Look” versus A “Feel’
-Color Profiles & Personalities

🎨Class 3: "Creating an Eye-Catching Color Palette" 
Students will learn how to create harmonious color combinations that create cohesive and visually appealing spaces.  Some topics discussed include:  

-The 60/30/10 Design Concept
-Color Scheme Recipes
-Color Combos that Work

🎨Class 4: "Bring in the Color" 
Students will learn how to strategically and creatively infuse color into a room design. Final topics discussed include:  

-Make a Statement
-Pattern Play
-Add the Layers 
-Remember the Sparkle

🎨MY TEACHING STYLE
-I like to tease the imagination of students by presenting information in unique and unconventional ways.  Specifically, I incorporate elements of discovery and exploration into my classes.
-I like for my classes to feel like a conversation versus a lecture. 
-My classes are laid-back and comfortable BUT intentionally planned and thoughtfully focused.  
-My classes are structured to allow for student interaction.  I also encourage students to interact with each other.
-To capture and hold the attention of my students, I create vibrant and interactive slide show presentations.
-My goal is to create captivating and unique learning experiences that are relevant and meaningful.

🎨COMMUNICATION
-I communicate with all students at some point during the class. 
-I am extremely attentive to students while teaching.  I provide friendly and timely communication and feedback to both parents and students.

🎨ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
-No previous interior design knowledge is required.
-Learners should bring a notebook and something to write with to class.

I am passionate, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable about entrepreneurship, business, and interior design. I offer engaging and relevant classes that cater to these learning interests. 

I received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Nonprofit Administration from John Carroll University. The skills and knowledge I gained have contributed favorably to my entrepreneurial and teaching endeavors. 

Currently, I own an interior design business that I have been operating since 2015. To date, I have designed over 100 spaces. As a business owner, I have learned to overcome obstacles, take risks, and utilize creativity. Consequently, I have gained a wealth of knowledge relating to entrepreneurship, business, and interior design. My real-world experiences prepared me to teach business concepts in a practical yet meaningful way. 

As a teacher, I like to tease the imagination of students by presenting information in unique and unconventional ways. Specifically, I incorporate elements of play, discovery, and adventure into my classes. I also encourage students to interact with each other. My classes are structured to allow for student interaction. My teaching methods are very deliberate and intentional. To capture the attention of my students, I design eye-catching,vibrant, and interactive digital slide shows. My goal is to create captivating and unique learning experiences. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and expertise with your child.  

On a personal note, I am a homeschool mom of 10 years to two amazing daughters. I recently became a dog mom to an adorable Yorkie Poo named Dallas. When I am not eating potato chips, I enjoy drinking smoothies, spending time in nature, traveling, reading, and playing chess.
