Would you like your learner to be introduced to the world? In this weekly introduction to world geography learners are introduced to world first with the globe, next with continents and then with our country of the week, along with the capital city, the flag, the language(s). We'll learn how to say "hello" in our country, talk about the animals that live there, famous landmarks and interesting places to visit, fun things to do, delicious foods to eat and sometimes cultural events! This beginning geography class introduces aspects of both human and physical geography.

In each class students will ALSO review:
spelling
practice skip counting
counting syllables
reading & sounding out country names (learning vowel & consonant blends)
review colors

Shhh ... don't tell them they're LEARNING and HAVING FUN! :) Each week, as students "visit" a new country, they will gain a stamp for their very own passport along with a map and weekly coloring sheet with letter practice! After class students can review the follow up post in the classroom which includes website links, videos and sometimes worksheets and activities!

Hello! My name is Miss Lisa! I love reading, learning and traveling ... and not necessarily in that order! :) I LOVE reading and diving into books and getting LOST in stories and learning. It can be quite an adventure like stepping through the wardrobe into Narnia! In my classroom, you will join me on adventures of different kinds.

In our classes, we'll go to far away places, whether in our imaginations or virtually as we travel! We'll read amazing books and learn about new things! We'll also read and discuss some books and even go "in game" in Minecraft to build what we are reading about.

I believe learning should be fun! My philosophy is "shh, don't let them know they're learning!" I LOVE to see my students having fun during our classes as they learn new things about our world and fall in love with reading. I also love to see students blossom as they become more comfortable and interact in the ways they feel comfortable. It is my desire to see your student come to my classroom and feel comfortable to LEARN, GROW and participate in whatever way they can.

I have been working with children ages 3-18 for over 20 years. I have organized and managed after-school mentoring programs and taught in church. I have been homeschooling for over 8 years and have been teaching online for over 6 years. I have a bachelor's degree in social work with an emphasis in psychology. I am also a published author.

I look forward to seeing you soon! If you have any questions, please message me. Please let me know if you have any scheduling difficulties; I typically answer within 24-48 hours.
