*** I NOW HAVE A WORLD GEOGRAPHY CLUB WITH CHUCK, TOO! JOIN US! https://outschool.com/classes/world-geography-travel-virtual-field-trip-lets-tour-the-world-one-country-at-a-time-0YpSa6Cx?usid=fueYmyk8&signup=true&utm_campaign=share_activity_link***

Come travel with Miss Lisa and her dog, Chuck! Each week, as we travel the country, we'll learn facts about a new state of the U.S.A. We'll travel the country and learn the state capital, border states and countries, state facts, amazing places, cool animals, delicious food and more! Students will also have the opportunity to share what they know and discuss what they are learning about the state of the week.

Each week as we meet, we'll be introduced to a new state of the week. We'll learn what region of the country our state is located in as we review the cardinal directions (north, south, east, west). Each student can print their own own provided map to bring to class each week as we travel to our new state. We’ll color a new state each week and complete our map in a little over a year! Wow! Students will also have a state facts worksheet to complete each week. They may do so during the lesson or after class to review. These worksheets can be saved to use as reference tools for future learning about the states!

Students will also be given related content in the form of video links, websites and often worksheets or activities to review and extend their learning AFTER each class as well. Some students enjoy painting, drawing, baking, cooking (& eating too!) as we learn about each state. We’ll share art projects and recipes too!

Students are also encouraged to share information and items about where they are from with the class either during class or in the classroom! Miss Lisa and Chuck are from Ohio, U.S.A.! Can you find it on a map? Where are you from?

Hello! My name is Miss Lisa! I love reading, learning and traveling ... and not necessarily in that order! :) I LOVE reading and diving into books and getting LOST in stories and learning. It can be quite an adventure like stepping through the wardrobe into Narnia! In my classroom, you will join me on adventures of different kinds.

In our classes, we'll go to far away places, whether in our imaginations or virtually as we travel! We'll read amazing books and learn about new things! We'll also read and discuss some books and even go "in game" in Minecraft to build what we are reading about.

I believe learning should be fun! My philosophy is "shh, don't let them know they're learning!" I LOVE to see my students having fun during our classes as they learn new things about our world and fall in love with reading. I also love to see students blossom as they become more comfortable and interact in the ways they feel comfortable. It is my desire to see your student come to my classroom and feel comfortable to LEARN, GROW and participate in whatever way they can.

I have been working with children ages 3-18 for over 20 years. I have organized and managed after-school mentoring programs and taught in church. I have been homeschooling for over 8 years and have been teaching online for over 6 years. I have a bachelor's degree in social work with an emphasis in psychology. I am also a published author.

I look forward to seeing you soon! If you have any questions, please message me. Please let me know if you have any scheduling difficulties; I typically answer within 24-48 hours.
