In this 4 week, flexible schedule course, learners will explore over 8 ocean animals while also laying the foundation for beginning reading and math skills. Students will learn through video lessons, online games, songs, crafts and more!

Class Experience
Class Experience Please note, this is a flexible schedule course with pre-recorded lessons. In this 4 week, flexible schedule class, learners will watch videos, complete fun, interactive tasks through an interactive link I will provide. This link will have the lesson video of myself teaching, as well as interactive activities. As a kindergarten teacher, I believe in reading stories, singing songs, and learning through play. I can't wait for you to join me for this ocean adventure! Each a week, students will receive a Nearpod link and/or a fun video to watch. These videos will include fun ocean facts, then I will utilize nearpod to provide fun interactive ocean theme. In these lessons, I will incorporate songs, movement, virtual field trips and more to help your learner stay engaged. After watching the videos, students will be able to participate in fun Nearpod activities or games that will incorporate ocean animals. This thematic ocean unit your student will be able to learn the following skills: -Letter recognition and letter sounds -Sight words -Sequencing -2d and 3d Shapes -Patterns -Counting and categorization -Counting by fives -Counting by tens -Addition and subtraction -Geography -Color words -How to write a complete sentence. In addition to these Nearpod links, students will also receive two fun tasks to complete throughout the week. These tasks will include writing activities, games and songs that they will share (through post comments and uploaded photos/videos) with the other students enrolled. I will be interacting with the students on the classroom posts feature. Please be sure to share the fun your having in this class! Each week, lessons and activities will be released to the students on Monday and Wednesday. I look forward to seeing you in the classroom!
Learning Goals
Students will have a basic understanding of the Ocean, and different marine animals.
Students will be able to complete patterns.
Students will be able to add and subtract within 15.
Students will be able to count by ones, fives, and tens.
Students will be able to identify 2d and 3d shapes.
Students will be able to identify 10 sight words.
Students will review letters and letter sounds, while putting them together to read simple cvc words.
Students will be able to write a full sentence.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses Nearpod, which is just an interactive link I will provide for you. Students will need basic school supplies, such as pencils, crayons, glue, ect.

I am so happy you are here! My name is Brittney Erickson, I am a mom of six and an educator. I’ve been in the education field for over 15 years. I’ve taught from Pre-K to 4th grade. Kindergarten has a special place in my heart, I taught it for 7 years!
I love hands on learning and learning through play! I love to teach ABC's, letters, numbers, science, arts and crafts, book clubs, legos, and anything Disney themed! I love to cultivate a safe environment, where students can learn through play! I am so thankful that you are willing to invest in your child's education. I work hard to create classes where your child and I can build a relationship, and I can truly come alongside them in their educational journey.
I have high expectations of my fellow teachers and myself in the lessons we provide. I have taken the initiative to create fun, engaging, interactive lessons, and I have gone above and beyond to create lessons with correct permissions and licenses to utilize fun images, themed lessons, and excellent music.
I myself am a homeschooling mom, and love everything Outschool has to offer! We personally love to use Outschool in our home! I can't wait to learn, play and be creative together!

Class Policies:
1. Unless the class specifically requires for more than 1 learner ( example: my halloween party or social club). I will still hold class for one student. My children get so excited for their classes, I would never want to cancel on an excited student ready to learn!
2. I will admit students to the classroom right at the scheduled time, even if not every student is present. If there is a technical issue and I cannot enter the classroom, I will contact parents through the classroom page and I will also contact Outschool.
3. I will always finish class as close to the scheduled amount of time as possible. Depending on low enrollment numbers or extended discussion for very active speakers, the class may run a few minutes short or long.
4. If no students are present in the classroom when class is meant to begin, I will wait 10 minutes before exiting. Once I exit the classroom, the class will be considered finished.Reviews
