Class Experience

US Grade 5 - 8
This on-demand class offers personalized math support for middle school students who need help reviewing concepts, completing homework, or building foundational skills. Each session is tailored to the learner’s current needs, whether that’s catching up on missed topics, preparing for an upcoming test, or simply getting through a tough homework assignment with confidence.

Students can bring their own assignments, or I can provide targeted practice and review based on their grade level, math curriculum, and family requests. Common topics include operations with fractions and decimals, ratios and proportions, expressions and equations, geometry, integers, and data analysis — but content will always be adjusted to meet the individual student’s learning goals.

In each session, we’ll work through problems together using clear explanations, organized digital notes, and virtual manipulatives to make abstract ideas more concrete. I incorporate a variety of tools and strategies to meet different learning styles — including visual models, interactive whiteboards, real-world examples, and scaffolded problem-solving.

My teaching style is supportive, encouraging, and student-centered. I focus on building positive relationships, helping students feel comfortable asking questions, and fostering a growth mindset. Learners will be actively engaged — talking through strategies, asking questions, solving problems step by step, and reflecting on what they’ve learned.

After each session, students will leave with strengthened understanding, improved confidence, and clear notes or examples they can refer back to as they continue their coursework. Whether your learner needs a quick homework boost or regular review sessions, this class provides a low-pressure, high-support environment to help them succeed.

Learning Goals

Students will strengthen their understanding of math concepts and develop effective problem-solving strategies to improve performance on homework and class assignments, while building the confidence and foundational skills needed for long-term success.
