I am a certified Pre-K - 3rd grade teacher. This is a private tutoring class, in each class we will focus on what your learner needs to learn/ practice. Some of the skills we will work on will include letter recognition and/or letter sounds

Each learner will be informally assessed during each tutoring session. Learners will be formally assessed monthly, to show progress on the skills that they are working on.Class Experience
US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 3
This class is a weekly 25 minute one on one tutoring session. This class will use an instructional approach where the teacher will support the needs of a student using a variety of strategies and activities. The teacher will also use other phonetic resources depending on the needs of the learner. In each session, I will provide structured support in Language Arts activities focusing on the skills of letter recognition, letter sound identification and phonetic skills to begin building reading readiness. In this ongoing tutoring class, students will have the opportunity to work with the teacher one on one to develop Pre-K/Kindergarten literacy skills. We will use part of the first session as an informal assessment, I will ask students questions in regards to different literacy skills to assess where each student needs to start for their tutoring sessions. This informal assessment will be used as a tool in creating lessons and activities to meet the needs of the individual learner. Language lessons each week will include some or all of the following skills: ⭐️letter recognition (upper & lowercase) ⭐️letter sound identification ⭐️phonological awareness ⭐️compound words ⭐️rhyming words ⭐️story elements ⭐️CVC/CVCe words ⭐️blending ⭐️digraphs ⭐️sight words ⭐️reading readiness I will create lessons using games and activities that will help engage students in understanding concepts we are working on. Skills will be individualized for each student every week. The goal of this class is to have each learner build confidence while engaging students in reading readiness activities to help increase learners letter and sound recognition. One on One tutoring days and times can be scheduled by parent request depending on teacher availability. Reach out and I will try to accommodate your schedule.

Supply List
Each class your child will need something to write with and write on (crayons, pencil, marker, paper, whiteboard all work great) I will post each Sunday in the classroom, if you will need any additional resources for our class that week.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Hi my name is Lynn and I am excited to be teaching on Outschool.
I graduated with a bachelor degree in education. I am a certified teacher with an endorsement in Pre-K - 4th grade.
I taught first grade for 18 years and I have taught kindergarten for the last 11 years. I also have over 15 years of experience volunteering with pre-schoolers and young adults. I love teaching and making an impact on children of all ages. I feel so blessed to be able to have a job I love!
I believe that learning should be interactive and fun as well as educational. I also believe that all children learn and develop at their own pace and I believe in meeting children where they are when they come to my class. I will offer a variety of activities in my classes to enhance each students learning experience.
In my free time I enjoy riding my bike, crafting with my cricut, reading, going to the beach and pool, shopping and spending time with my family and friends.
