US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
Sight words are words that are memorized to help students learn to read and write. Learning sight words allows students to recognize words at a glance and also makes reading easier and faster. When a child has a firm concept of sight words their reading becomes more fluent which helps students gain reading comprehension knowledge. In this four week class, students will be introduced to new sight words each week. I will use a variety of teaching strategies to help students learn and reinforce sight words. Students will play a sight word game, practice writing sight words and do a fun sight word activity each week. Week 1 - Mystery Sight Word Reveal (the, red, it, is, me, see) Week 2 - Make sight words with Play doh and Roll & Write sight words (and, big, yellow, my, look, funny) Week 3 - Race to the Sight Word and Rainbow Write sight words (go, for, said, not, blue, jump) Week 4 - Sight Word Review Bingo

Hi my name is Lynn and I am excited to be teaching on Outschool.
I graduated with a bachelor degree in education. I am a certified teacher with an endorsement in Pre-K - 4th grade.
I taught first grade for 18 years and I have taught kindergarten for the last 11 years. I also have over 15 years of experience volunteering with pre-schoolers and young adults. I love teaching and making an impact on children of all ages. I feel so blessed to be able to have a job I love!
I believe that learning should be interactive and fun as well as educational. I also believe that all children learn and develop at their own pace and I believe in meeting children where they are when they come to my class. I will offer a variety of activities in my classes to enhance each students learning experience.
In my free time I enjoy riding my bike, crafting with my cricut, reading, going to the beach and pool, shopping and spending time with my family and friends.
