Students will learn tricks to find the multiplication facts of 5's 6's.
Class experience
Students will learn tricks and strategies for multiplication facts for the 5's and 6's. I will present one at a time. Students will copy the trick being used as well as fill in the answers for the facts being discussed. Then we will move on to the next set of multiplication facts. We will repeat this for each of the sets. Students will be able to show what they have learned by using the strategy themselves to answer more difficult problems involving that specific fact. Students will learn fun tips and tricks to learning the multiplication tables.
As a former classroom teacher I know that students learn through repetition. I have seen how amazed students are by these tricks, they often want to practice them to be able to show to others.
Students should have a journal and pencil for class, two colored pens or markers if possible would help with notes. Students will have the opportunity to write on the interactive whiteboard. They are encouraged to explore this before class. Instructions will be given for those that are not familiar with this.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
