Beginner Level
These tutoring sessions are designed to help students develop their skills in English Language Arts. Students will receive support in multiple aspects, including vocabulary, phonics, reading intervention, etc. I enjoy working individually with students as I can ensure that my curriculum is flexible and adheres to the needs of each student that I am working with. I will have lecture slides, guided practice opportunities, and individual practice opportunities in my sessions. I invite students to bring in work they may have from school or any learning materials that they would like to use, and I will definitely incorporate that into my lessons.
Learning Goals
Students will be able to enhance skills in English Language Arts through both direct and indirect instruction.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have worked with students in a wide variety of different settings. This past summer, I completed my third year at the Katherine Thomas School, which serves students with disabilities in a therapeutic and social setting. I was a teaching assistant for a 3-5 year-old preschool classroom, in which I taught social-emotional skills and language intervention. I have also worked as a 1:1 Therapeutic Aide at KTS, where I worked individually with students to help support them in the classroom setting. In high school, I was Head Coach of the Special Olympics Maryland Figure Skating Team, where I helped students of all ages prepare competitive programs and work collaboratively as a member of a team. I would also like to share that I have a twin brother who is on the Autism Spectrum. I have grown up in a setting where different abilities are welcomed and not pushed away, which I feel has made me a more empathetic and accepting educator.
