Welcome to our Mindfulness & Social Emotional Learning Class for Kids aged 9-12! Get ready to embark on a fun and transformative journey where you will learn a wide range of mindfulness practices specifically designed for your age group. Students will learn techniques to reduce stress and anxiety in their lives, They learn to calm themselves down when they are encountering any strong emotions and respond to any situation mindfully. In this class, we will explore mindful body, breathing, listening, movements, noticing our emotions and feelings, and learn how to pay attention better, become more focused, and live in the present. They will learn different breathing exercises to deepen their understanding of mindfulness, connect with their emotions, and learn how to respond wisely rather than react impulsively in any situation.

Our class incorporates interactive and engaging tools, including a variety of mindful game cards and over 20 different breathing exercises, to help you grasp the concept of mindfulness and develop a profound awareness of your inner world. By learning to calm yourself when faced with strong emotions, you will gain invaluable skills in self-regulation. Additionally, you learn kindness and compassion towards yourself and your friends, nurturing a supportive and caring community.

Throughout the course, you will explore a rich array of mindfulness practices that cover essential aspects of mindful living. These practices include Mindful Listening, Mindful Breathing, Sending Kind Thoughts, Body Awareness, Body Scan, Mindful Seeing, Mindfulness of Emotions and Thoughts, Mindful Eating, Slow/Mindful Movement, Mindful Walking, and Gratitude. By consistently practicing these techniques, you will develop the ability to bring mindfulness to every aspect of your daily life.

Mindfulness is not only about cultivating a peaceful state of mind, but it also prepares you to be in a learning-ready state. By learning how to focus your attention fully on one thing at a time, you will enhance your concentration and focus. Moreover, mindfulness equips you with the tools to manage your emotions and find calmness even in challenging situations.

No prior background knowledge is required to embark on this mindfulness journey. Our class welcomes everyone, regardless of their previous experience.

At the end of each session, you will be presented with a challenge for the week. This challenge encourages you to put into practice what you have learned and observe the impact of mindfulness in your daily life. During subsequent sessions, you will have the opportunity to share your experiences and insights with the group, fostering a sense of camaraderie and growth.
