Mermaid Themed Read Aloud and Sand Dollar Craft
In this one-time mermaid themed class, students will listen to an interactive read aloud of, "Pinkalicious and Aqua, the Mini-Mermaid," by Victoria Kann and create a sand dollar craft while discussing their favorite details from the story.

Description
Class Experience
Students will be able to listen to the read aloud story. Students will practice their listening and speaking skills by participating in a class discussion by sharing their favorite details of the story and talking about their sand dollar craft. Students will practice their fine motor and creativity skills by making a daily craft.
Optional: Students can complete their sand dollar craft if needed. Students can practice retelling the story to family and friends. Students can explain their craft to their family and friends.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Informal assessment is conducted while students participate in the read aloud and class discussion.
40 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
