Mean, Median, Mode, and Range- What Are They?

In this class, students will learn how to find the mean (average), median (middle number), mode (most repeated number) and range (difference between the smallest and largest data point) in a data set in both table and graph format. Students will be presented opportunities to solve questions to enhance their understanding of these concepts in data tables and graphs to help students learn how to use these in real world scenarios.

Students will participate in class by completing questions with the instructor, as well as independently, sending answers via chat (chat will be used in this class, please ensure students know how to use this zoom feature). Students will also receive opportunity to solve questions on the screen and take turns to find answers. 

Prior knowledge required for this class includes multiplying and dividing, as well as how to read a basic data table and graph, such as a bar graph.

*Questions for this class will be provided ahead of time due to using tables and graphs, however please do not let students complete ahead of time as these are to help students solve questions.
