Welcome! From teaching math in a school to online classes, and even teaching my own, I understand how frustrated some students may become when they face mathematical obstacles! I am here for you – and them. I specialize in patiently explaining several different techniques and how to master each algebraic skill. In this course, your learner will feel confident and assured that they have mastered the material. All of my classes are very interactive. I encourage questions, ask for clarification, and for the students to model the process. My teaching method is -I do, we do, you do. I will shower your learner with praise when the task is accomplished and encouragement when they are struggling with a difficult concept. The goal is to master algebraic skills WITH confidence! For each class, the format will be as follows: 5 min – Welcome to the classroom and begin with a real-life math problem, just to get their minds eager and ready. 5 min – Review and Homework questions 20 min – Instruction 25 min – Practice (ensuring student feels confident with the procedures) 5 min – Assignment and Good-bye This course is a follow-up course to Algebra Semester 1. Therefore students should be familiar with Cartesian Coordinates, Slope-Intercept Formulas, Graphing Inequalities, and Linear Equations. If you have any questions regarding your child's readiness a diagnostic assessment can be available. You can contact me for an assessment. The second-semester section will cover the following skills: Week 1: Algebra Foundations and Review Week 2: Factor Polynomials and Factoring Trinomials with Coefficients Week 3: Factoring Trinomials and Negative Numbers Week 4: Square Roots and Dividing Polynomials Week 5: Difference between Two Squares and Assessment Week 6: Repeated Factoring of Polynomials Week 7: Solving Equations with Factoring Week 8: Coin Problems and Unit Multipliers Week 9: Unit Multipliers and Square Unit Multipliers Week 10: Metric Conversions Week 11: Fractional Exponents and Assessment Week 12: Significant Digits Week 13: Scientific Notation Week 14: Bases Other than 10 Week 15: Graphing a Circle and an Ellipse Week 16: Graphing a Parabola and a Hyperbola Week 17: Review and Final Assessment

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have my BA in Education for College of Florida and am in process of completing my Master's in Education. However, I have been teaching in the classroom for 30 years. I have enjoyed teaching Arithmetic, Prealgebra, and Algebra in the classroom, for homeschool students, and online for the last eight years. Overall, while teaching algebra for over 5 years, I have honed my teaching to make algebraic skills relatable to the students. My passion is to show them that they are more than capable of mastering the material!
