US Grade 1
This semester long course covers the second half of first grade math. The first half of the course is "Fun With First Grade Math: Semester 1". Learners should be familiar with numbers to 50, place value (ones, tens), commutative property, associative property, identity property of zero, skip counting, addition and subtraction to 20, and 2D shapes. My classes are interactive and fun. I like to engage the children and we all problem solve together. I use props, a whiteboard, and fun animated...
Goals include: -count, read, write numbers to 120 -understand place value: ones, tens, hundreds -adding/subtracting within 100 -solving word problems: addition, subtraction, unknowns in all positions, using money -learn 3D Shapes
Homework Offered
Each week we will have homework. We will discuss this during class. I will send out a homework sheet (if necessary) and we will review the homework at the beginning of the next lesson. Homework is not mandatory but is highly encouraged. It should only take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
I will send out feedback to the parents at the end of the semester. I will check in with the parents sooner if the learner is struggling in a specific area. I always welcome questions/comments during the semester.Grades Offered
The learners will need to print some worksheets at home. They should always have a notebook and pencil. I will send out an email ahead of time if materials are needed for the next class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
