Class Experience

US Grade 4 - 7
What will be taught:
Multiplying a decimal by a whole number.
Multiplying decimal numbers.
Special multipliers of 10, 100, 1000, and so on. 
Word problems requiring the multiplication of decimals
Students learn to multiply a decimal by either a whole number or a decimal-
Students learn multiplying the numbers in the same way as they would as whole numbers.
Students find the sum of the decimal places in the multiplier and the multiplicand.
Students learn to place the decimal point in the product, counting from right to left, the same number of places as the sum of the decimal places in the multiplier and the multiplicand. 
Students learn about the special numbers like 10, 100, 1000, etc-- to keep the digits the same in the product as there are in the multiplicand. Students learn to place the decimal point in the product as many places to the right of its position in the multiplicand as there are zeros in the multiplier. Add zeros as place holders when necessary. 
Knowledge of Introduction to decimals would be helpful and multiplication basics.

Parental Guidance
Parental guidance is helpful in case of technical difficulty or help for logging on to the zoom. Students do not need any expensive toys, furnishings or other items. They do need well designed space that is safe for the student to do activities/projects. Parental guidance is necessary incase student needs help with an activity with guidance. Such as gluing, cutting with scissors etc. There are no third party websites that will be used for each week for the lessons or signing in for accounts.
