What will be taught: Students will learn sentence tell a complete thought. Student learn what is a fragment sentence. Students will learn statement, command, question, and exclamation rules for sentences. Students will learn to write a complete sentence. Students will have a writing activity using the rules they have learned. Students learn the rules of subject and predicate Students learn to tell what is the subject of a sentence Students will practice subjects in sentences. Students will learn rules of the predicate. Students will name or write sentences using predicate. Students will have a writing activity writing what they learned about subjects and predicates in writing a short entry. Students learn the rules for combining sentences. Students will learn which words in the two sentences are the same and which words students use can be put together with "and" Students learn to practice combining sentences and join the word "and." Students will practice a writing activity and write a short paragraph using the rules they have learned. Students will practice the rules and sentences using commas in sentences. How will the lesson be taught: Nearpod, doc cam, engagement, discussion. Great class for beginners, or for the student who need more practice.
Learning Goals
Students will understand the usage of rules in sentences, combining, subject, predicate and commas in sentences. And how using these rules makes their sentences and writing clearer.Other Details
Parental Guidance
Parental guidance is helpful in case of technical difficulty or help for logging on to the zoom. Students do not need any expensive toys, furnishings or other items. They do need well designed space that is safe for the student to do activities/projects. Parental guidance is necessary incase student needs help with an activity with guidance. Such as gluing, cutting with scissors etc. There are no third party websites that will be used for each week for the lessons or signing in for accounts.
