What will be taught: 
How you combine two sentences with "and" in your writing. 
The rules of combining sentences.
Finding how subjects that are the same, combine the predicates with "and."
Students will do practice exercises using "and" to combine predicates and writing the new sentence. 
Students will write a short grammar activity that will have the student practice the use of and to combine sentences in their writing. 
Students will learn how to use commas in dates 
Students will learn how to write a short letter and add commas where they belong with the use of "and" to combine short sentences. 
Students will also have a review of rules for past tense, usage such as, -ed, use of has, have, and had, use of and, and write comma between the day and year in a date. 
Students learn errors with subject verb agreement using -s, and - es rules. 
Some slides will be used, discussion, some writing activities. 
No previous experience, some knowledge about verbs, subjects and predicates.

Learning Goals

Students will learn to understand that sentences are an important part of writing. A sentence is a group of words joined together with the help of some grammatical elements like conjunctions, prepositions, etc. Students will also learn how commas have many different uses. and how commas are the most used punctuation marks in almost every written language. They are used to indicate short pauses and serve various other functions. They can be used more than one time in a sentence as well.

Parental Guidance
Parental guidance in case of technical difficulties. Students do not need any expensive toys, furnishings or other items. They do need well designed space that is safe for the student to do activities/projects. Parental guidance is necessary incase student needs help with an activity with guidance. Such as gluing, cutting with scissors etc. There are no third party websites that will be used for each week for the lessons or signing in for accounts.
