Class Experience
In this on going class, I will teach students the art of long division using the box method. I will use Zoom's whiteboard feature to teach and collaborate with students during class. I will begin each class by modeling how to solve division problems using box method. Then together students and I will work on problems, and lastly students will work on division problems on their own. The pace of the class is based on learner needs. Students will master long division.
I have a teaching certification in elementary education and I've been teaching 5th grade math for 8 years.
No homework will be assigned unless students are struggling on multiplication facts.
I will informally assess students based on their in class work.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
