Description

Class Experience

Students will learn graphic editing to use sprite sheets.
Students will learn how to create a workflow to share between platforms
Students will learn how a video game is built.
Students will learn graphic coding, which is a first step in game design and robotics. 
Students will be expected to continue building the level independently. This includes extra backdrops, one other enemy, and attempting to build a character attack. They can submit a link to their final product in the classroom page.
 5 files available upon enrollment
Scratch is an online coding platform. A scratch account will make feedback easier. It helps to try out scratch prior to class just to get comfortable with the layout. Pixlr is also an online resource. We will only use it to create sprite files.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
I will be trialing student's finished game and providing written feedback and a grade based on the attached rubric. The rubric targets: Graphic editing skills, working within multiple programs, graphic coding skill, and overall game design.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
