I’ll help explain the processes followed in post-production such as editing, color, sound and visual effects. Learners are usually very curious about this part of the process and we take time to carefully address their questions as they arise. Topics that are covered: PRODUCTION: • Process of Film / TV production; • Essential crew positions and key roles; • Breakdown of primary departments on set; • BTS – Behind the scenes breakdown POST-PRODUCTION: • Introduction to Post-Production; • Discussion of the process after filming has completed; • Breakdown of the Editorial, Color & Visual Effects departments; 55 minutes. If your child really enjoys this presentation, please consider enrolling them in The Process of Making Movie Magic - On-Going Workshop for 12-17 Yr Olds, a On-going class workshop taking much deeper dives into all the topics mentioned above and much more, giving students a profound understanding of the process. For more information please see "The Process of Making Movie Magic - On-Going Workshop for 12-17 Yr Olds". All learners are required to be on camera, if you have any concerns with this, please contact me BEFORE the beginning of class. Due to the copyrighted nature of the material I will be presenting, I will NOT be able to provide classroom recordings afterwards. I’m really sorry about that, studios make it very difficult to publicly release their intellectual property even for educational purposes.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Throughout my career in film and television, I’ve always found immense satisfaction in sharing my experiences with younger generations. Starting in 2013, I began presenting to students at Pinecrest Schools in Southern California, breaking down the intricate world of filmmaking. These presentations quickly evolved into a comprehensive exploration of various departments, from cinematography to visual effects.
Inspired by the students’ enthusiasm, I continued these demonstrations at St. Jude School, Oaks Christian High School and Cal Luthern University, igniting curiosity and sparking dreams. By showcasing the diverse roles within the industry, I aim to empower students to envision themselves as future filmmakers, writers, directors, or artists.
I’ve had the privilege of presenting to a wide range of age groups, from elementary school through high school, as well as participating in masterclasses at prestigious events like Animayo and WonderCon. The joy of witnessing young minds engage with the creative process is truly rewarding.
To further this mission, I’ve developed a comprehensive curriculum, “The Process of Visual Arts.” This program delves into the intricacies of filmmaking, from on-set production to post-production. Through behind-the-scenes insights and practical demonstrations, I strive to inspire students to explore their own creative potential and pursue their passions in the world of film and television.
