Beginner - Advanced Level
In this personalized 1-on-1 filmmaking challenge, students will take their ideas from concept to completed short film in just 4 weeks. We will work closely together to guide the student through each stage of the filmmaking process, from brainstorming and script development to production and post-production. The course is designed to give students hands-on experience with filmmaking, empowering them to create their own movie by the end of the course. Week 1: Script Development We’ll start by brainstorming ideas, developing a unique short film concept, and outlining the story. By the end of the session, the student will have written a short script ready for production. Week 2: Pre-Production We’ll focus on the planning process, including casting, selecting locations, and organizing any necessary equipment (smartphones or DSLR cameras). The session will be tailored to the student’s resources. Week 3: Production Coaching The student will begin filming their short movie, and I’ll offer feedback on shot composition, directing, and overcoming challenges. This session will focus on the practicalities of filmmaking. Week 4: Post-Production In the final session, we’ll work together to edit the movie, focusing on sound design, cuts, and polishing the final product. The student will receive feedback on improving their short film. This course is ideal for students who want a deep, hands-on experience with filmmaking, working directly with an award-winning filmmaker to complete their own project.
