Beginner Level
This 4-week phonics course will be, *Explicit teaching of short vowel sounds a, e, i, o, u *Systematic practice decoding simple CVC words *Opportunities to apply skills by reading decodable texts *With a balanced, multisensory approach, this course will give your young learner the phonics mastery they need to become a fluent, confident reader. Supply List: Your scholar will need a dry erase board, marker and eraser to engage in word building. This is the fun and engaging part of the lesson. We will read a decodable passage from the google slides and review 21 consonant letter sounds.
Learning Goals
Students will be able to recall the short vowel sounds for the vowels a, e, I ,o, u.Students will be able to identify the short vowel sounds in CVC words.Syllabus
8 Lessons
over 4 WeeksLesson 1:
Short "a"
We will review constants and then introduce how to pronounce short "a". We will write CVC words with short "a". 40 mins online live lesson
Lesson 2:
Short "a"
We will review constant again and short "a". Then we will encode sentences and read a short "a" decodable passage. 40 mins online live lesson
Lesson 3:
Short "e"
We will review constants and then introduce how to pronounce short "e". We will write CVC words with short "e". 40 mins online live lesson
Lesson 4:
Short e
We will review constant again and short "e". Then we will encode sentences and read a short "e" decodable passage. 40 mins online live lesson
