This 8-week course is designed to help middle and high school students understand, develop, and enhance their Executive Function skills. Through interactive lessons, engaging activities, and practical strategies, students will build confidence and independence in managing their time, tasks, and goals.
Course Objectives:

Understand what Executive Function skills are and why they matter.
Learn practical strategies for improving organization, time management, and goal-setting.
Develop self-awareness and learn how to self-monitor progress.
Practice real-world application of skills through hands-on activities.
Create a personalized toolkit for long-term success.

Syllabus

20 Lessons
over 8 Weeks
Lesson 1:
What are Executive Functions?
 Overview of key skills: planning, organization, time management, emotional regulation, and self-monitoring 
2 assignments
Lesson 2:
Why Executive Functions Matter
 How these skills impact school, home and future careers and activities! 
Lesson 3:
Getting Organized
 Strategies and Hands On Activities for Decluttering, Creating Systems and maintaining order Students work on organizing one workspace. 
Lesson 4:
Prioritizing Tasks
 Understanding importance vs. urgency

This class is especially beneficial for students with ADHD, but is inclusive to all learners.

I am currently in my 9th year of education and my 3rd year as an Executive Function Coach for students from late middle school to early college and career age students. I apply various teaching strategies to help students engage in and learn the importance of activating EF skills. My experience in the classroom allow for me to work with a very diverse group of students from various ethnic and educational backgrounds and many on the spectrum of neurodivergency.
