US Grade Preschool - Kindergarten
This class is just right for children who are ready to start learning letters or can already recognize some or all of their letters. In this ongoing class, we will meet once a week, for 25 minutes, to focus on one upper and lower case letter (Aa) in each class. Each week(not in alphabetical order) will learn a different letter. The letter of the week will be posted in the classroom at the beginning of the week(the schedule is also listed below). They will learn the letter name, sound, how to write the upper and lowercase letter, and vocabulary(with pictures) that start with that letter. We will also draw a picture that starts with the letter. Show and Tell: Each week, I would like to encourage each Learner to find ONE object that starts with the letter of the week and bring it to class for Show and Tell. The children will have many opportunities to socialize as we identify real pictures and props, answer questions, share knowledge, and make the letter sounds! I will also provide an activity on the classroom page, after each class, that can printed out for additional fun and practice at home. I am looking forward to meeting you in class! ** This class repeats every 26 weeks starting with letter A on the schedule below. You are welcome to stay enrolled for more learning and reveiw. If you feel your learner has mastered the letters and sounds, feel free to check out my Reading Adventurers classes. Thank you. I believe children learn best through a variety of means including: repetition, writing, movement, creativity, socialization, fun, and a positive attitude. If I do not know the answer to a child's question, I will research it and let them know. Knowledge is a powerful tool that can create a spark for future learning and life adventures.
