25 mins in-class hours per weekHomework
1 hour per week. An activity sheet is posted in the classroom after each class for learners to print out, review, and reinforce the lesson learned hat day. The activity may ask learners to identify food, predators, or cousins of the animal discussed.Class Experience
US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 2
In this ongoing class, we will be exploring a different ocean animal each week. The explorers will see real photos of the animals, identify their body parts, and learn fun facts about the things they eat, and their behaviors. I have created a video to show photos and some live video of the animals, as well as their cousins, and predators. During the class, explorers will have a chance to share their knowledge or encounters with these animals and ask questions. This class is perfect for children who want to see what lives in the ocean or want to learn more about the many ocean animals they can already identify. Below, I have listed some of the animals we will be exploring. I will continue to update the weekly topics here every few months. I hope to see your explorers in class soon! **UPCOMING TOPICS For 2024:** Week of September 3rd - 8th - Manatees and Dugongs Week of September 9th - 15th - Ocean Plants Week of September 16th - 22nd - Nurse Shark Week of September 23rd - 29th - Sea Urchins Week of September 30th - October 6th - Orcas Week of October 7th - 13th - Unicornfish Week of October 14th - 20th - In the Deep Week of October 21st - 27th - Shrimp Week of October 28th - November 3rd - Halloween Named Animals in the Ocean Week of November 4th - 10th - Sand Tiger Sharks Week of November 11th - 17th - Squid Week of November 18th - 24th - Turkeyfish ****** No classes November 27th - December 1st ****** Week of December 2nd - 8th - Sea Horses and Sea Dragons Week of December 9th - 15th - Bull shark Week of December 16th - 22nd - Festive Named Creatures Week of December 23rd - 29th - Tangs ****** No classes on December 24th or 25th****** ****** No classes Decemberr 31st - January 5th ******

I have created curriculum for 3-6 year old's, tutored, been a nanny, an assistant director, assistant teacher for early learners in the school district, and taught English (ESL) online. I have a BA in Early Childhood Education and a BA in Psychology. I love to find creative ways for children to learn and have fun! I believe children learn best through a variety of means including: repetition, writing, movement, creativity, socialization, fun, and a positive attitude. If I do not know the answer to a child's question, I will research it and let them know. Knowledge is a powerful tool that can create a spark for future learning and life adventures.
