In this multi-day course learners will choose from one of four bird themed middle grade novels. We'll read and discuss what we love (and don't love) about the book while also exploring story structure, plot, theme and voice.
Class experience
Books transport us to new places and sometimes it's more fun to travel with others. In this book club we will engage in meaningful discussion about our chosen story, while expanding our understanding of literary devices. We will touch on flashback, foreshadowing, symbolism, false endings, characterization and voice (to name a few). All of the books I have chosen are modern reads, published within the last five years.
