Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 3
Intermediate Level
The Dragon Masters book series is full of diverse people, places, and dragons. Many of these fantastic places have been based on real world locations. Many of the dragons have been drawn from real world mythology. And many of the characters have been created to be an example of real world people.

In this class we will explore the real world places the Dragon Masters' settings are based on and compare them with the descriptions used in the Dragon Masters' books. We will learn about geographical landmarks, ecosystems, and cultural icons. We will also learn about the cultural mythology of dragons and compare it to the Dragon Master dragons we know and love.

As we explore, we will also build our own map using printable sheets that we will cut, paste, color and key to the world of the Dragon Masters. Each map sheet will encompass multiple areas of the world, so learners will end up with all of the map components even if they do not attend every meeting.

Learners will need:
-access to a printer
-scissors
-glue or clue sticks
-crayons, colored pencils, or markers
-a sheet of blue poster board
