1 hour per week. Students will complete a project to go along with the current book we are reading and present their project when we finish reading the whole book. Students will get a choice board of different projects and choose the project that best fits their learning style.Certificate of Completion

This is an ongoing, weekly book club for 4th and 5th-grade students. Each week, we will read a few chapters from a chapter book together, live in class. When we finish a book as a class, students will work on a cumulative project related to the book to then present to the class to build reading comprehension skills and speaking/presentation skills. Our class schedule will look like the following: First 5 minutes: warm-up activity while everyone is logging on 10-15 minutes: read several chapters from our book aloud Last 5 minutes: quick discussion over the chapters or discuss the end-of-book project The following books will be options to read for the 2025-2026 school year: The City of Ember Holes The One and Only Ivan

Parents are encouraged to research these books to determine if they want their child reading these books. These books are appropriate for 5th-grade, but they do occasionally have themes of struggle, apocalypse, and exclusion.
Supply List
Students will get a choice of projects to complete after each book. Some project options require craft supplies, such as paper, markers, tape, boxes, etc. But there are other options that do not require any additional supplies.
