Ms. Carol has been a voracious reader since childhood. Her lifelong passion is to cultivate curiosity in children, and to inspire a lifelong love of learning, especially the reading and enjoyment of beautiful literature! It is not my style to glorify the scary or darker aspects of any story. I prefer to focus on, and to keep our class discussions focused on the positive life lessons. We do, however, briefly and tactfully touch on the darker topics, such as deaths of characters, and unkindness in this story. I make every attempt to model and teach critical thinking, regardless of what book we are reading. Ms. Carol has a PhD in pedagogy and history, with a Master’s in Cultural Studies. One of my core values is to teach children to think critically, and to apply that to everything they read.
