In this one time class, your chid will learn the proper fundamantal progressions and drills to perform a backbend with USA Olympian Ms. Hope. A backbend is the prerequisite to a backwalkover. We will begin class with greeting each student, followed by a 5-7 minute warm up and stretch, next we will work on the fundamentals. I will be evaluating your child in class. This will serve as a guide for me to help them progress using their current skills. My goal for each student is to gain knowlege and understanding of how the backbend is performed safely. As with any activity, there is a risk of injury. This class will require parental guidance and help for the entire duration of the class.

Each student will gain the knowledge and have the ability to begin performing a backbend from a standing position.

Supply List
Students will need athletic style clothing, such as a fitted t shirt, lycra fabric shorts or bike tights. a padded surface and a narrow pillow. Parental guidance and assistance is needed throughout the duration of the class. This requirement is for the safety of your child.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi. My name is Ms. Hope. I have a Bachelor's of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences degreee from the University of Georgia. I'm a retired USA Olympic and NCAA gymnast. I have 26 years experience as a gymnastics club owner and coach. I enjoy teaching and encouraging young children, as well as, help them to live a happier and healthier life. I love to have fun in the classroom through encouragement and providing positive feedback.
I have a 17 year old daughter, a dog named Jacky. In my spare time I enjoy exercising, cooking and home decor.
