Group experience

¡Bienvenidos y bienvenidas! This group is your passport to other parts of the world. Practice your learned Spanish skills with students from different locations, learn new words, phrases and sentences. Share the world as you see it using what you know in Spanish.

Every week, there will be exercises to test your language skills. Whether you're just starting or have some experience, join us in this global English-Spanish conversation.

Posts you might see include:
— Saturday ‘Show & Tell’ | students talk about any item or topic important to them in a short presentation.
— Tuesday ‘Trabalenguas’ | students learn (or share) a tongue-twister to practice their enunciation and speed!
— Friday Free Verse | share a poem, lyrics, or journal entry that you learned or created in Spanish.

Creative activities connect you with learners worldwide. They’ll encourage you to engage in Spanish and have fun at the same time. We will also have other challenges like : the word of the week, writing to do lists, reading news stories and more in Spanish.

As your group moderator, I’ll provide tips and tricks to help you learn Spanish. I’ll explain in English what a word means, new grammar rules and even share with you a window into my Spanish speaking life. Through video snapshots and engaging Spanish conversations, learn the ways in which you can use Spanish in everyday situations and in communities where Spanish speakers like yourself live.

Let's explore the world in a fun and bilingual friendly way! ¡Vámonos!

Guidelines
Welcome to our OutSchool Spanish Group! We want all of our learners to feel comfortable, connected, and safe. That's why we have 5 rules we ask you to follow: Be Kind, Be Safe, and Be Respectful. Lift each other up, and practice your Spanish. Speak [as much as you can] in Spanish - This class is about your Spanish language skills. Feel comfortable in using Spanish as much as possible, this is the best way to improve your Spanish! Lift Each Other Up - When we help each other, we grow together. Spanish is a global language that connects us not only through the spoken and written word, but also with communities both big and small of different cultures and practices. With more than 450 million speakers worldwide, chances are you will meet someone who participates in different cultural practices. Spanish allows you to learn about them and even share your world too! Feel comfortable in asking thoughtful and sincere questions. Be Kind - Help all learners feel welcome and included. Learners from all over the world, with different backgrounds, races, ethnicities, abilities, gender identities, religions and body types, participate in our Group. Always be nice and make others, especially new learners, know that they belong and are welcome. Teasing, name calling, or bullying anybody in our community? Nope. Not happening here. Be Safe - Keep your personal information private and never ask other learners for theirs. Personal things are personal. We want to keep you safe on Outschool, but we also want YOU to understand how to be safe when you're meeting other learners or teachers. Keep your full name, home address, gaming or social media name, email, and school name private. Be Respectful - Treat others how you want to be treated. Keep language clean and information you share safe. If you wouldn't say it or share with your grandma, don't do it here. Swear words, racy videos, and violent images are not allowed. Treat Outschool like a public place, and when in doubt, keep things covered.

Living as a bilingual speaker is an enriching experience. As early as grade school, I became a translator for my parents. Along the way, I learned the value of speaking English and Spanish. And even though I live in a Spanish speaking household, I decided to take classes in Spanish grammar, language, and literature while I was in high school and college. Spanish is not one singular language but a tapestry of different words, phrases, and practices from around the world. Join me as we connect with Spanish students worldwide.
