Class Experience
Beginner - Advanced Level
This is a private art class which is appropriate for students who have a serious interest in improving their realistic pencil drawing skills and abilities. Subject matter can range from drawing hands, portraiture, landscapes, still life objects, and other subjects based on the student's interests and skill level. We will cover a variety of topics including proportion, shading, drawing from observation, color theory and more, again depending on the abilities and interests of the students. Classes can build over a set time to create final composition projects such as a self portrait, or crafted image that has been created over several weeks.
Learning Goals
Students will practice and improve upon their realistic drawing and rendering skills through a variety of exercises and studies, while receiving suggestions for improvement. We will work on foundational concepts of realistic drawing from observation using principles such as shading, proportion and depth.Other Details
Supply List
Drawing pencils, eraser, pencil sharpener, and several sheets of paper per class.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
