US Grade 8 - 11
In this class, students will learn a quick and simple three-step method for factorising quadratic expressions. We’ll focus on strategies that make the process easy to understand and remember. We'll start by reviewing basic algebra concepts like factors and factorising liner expressions, then dive into the step-by-step method for factorising quadratics in the most efficient way. The class will be structured with clear, step-by-step explanations using slides and visual examples to break down each part of the process. After demonstrating the method, we’ll work through problems together, giving students plenty of opportunities to ask questions and practice the techniques. There will also be time for independent practice, allowing students to reinforce their skills and build confidence in factorising quadratics. My teaching style is hands-on and interactive. I focus on making the material accessible by breaking things down into manageable steps and providing lots of opportunities for students to engage with the content. I encourage questions and active participation, creating a comfortable space for students to learn and grow. Students will be invited to solve problems live, share their answers with the group, and discuss any challenges they encounter. I also like to keep the class fun with math challenges and interactive exercises that keep everyone motivated and engaged. By the end of the class, students will have mastered the three-step process for factorising quadratic expressions, gaining the confidence and skills needed to tackle more complex algebra problems in the future.
Learning Goals
Students will be able to quickly and confidently factorise quadratic expressions using a simple, structured approach.
Students will practice identifying and extracting the HCF in both quadratic and simpler algebraic expressions, improving their overall factorisation skills.

🌟 Greetings, Math Enthusiasts! 🌟
Hey there, Outschool community! I'm Mr. Janjua, an enthusiastic Mathematics Teacher who has helped many students navigate through the thrilling world of mathematics. I hold a first-class in BSc Electrical Engineering Hons, along with qualifications like QTS and a PGDE in Mathematics, I've journeyed through primary and secondary international and state schools (ages 6-16), accumulating a diverse wealth of teaching experiences.
In Mathematics, simplicity and comprehensiveness take centre stage. I thrive on infusing clever techniques that not only make math understandable but also downright enjoyable. As a family man, I understand the importance of creating a positive and engaging learning environment. 🏡📚
Picture this: interactive lessons, real-world connections where applicable, and a teaching style that demystifies complex math. I'm not just a fan of using techniques like hinge-point questioning, dual coding, and deep scaffolding – I love simplifying math with quick techniques that make the subject accessible and fun. 🧠✨
I get it – math can be a bit overwhelming. That's why I break down the tricky stuff into bite-sized pieces, using activities grounded in real-world applications. With a first-class honours degree in Electrical Engineering, I bring a unique perspective to the mathematical landscape. 🔍🔢
So, fasten your seatbelts and join me, Mr. Janjua, on this exhilarating mathematical adventure. Together, we'll unravel the mysteries of numbers, making math not just accessible but a subject you genuinely love. Let's dive into the excitement of math, where quick techniques meet the joy of simplification! 🚀🔢
I look forward to meeting you in class! 🤝📚
