Class Experience

This is an advanced level class for students who have a serious interest and enthusiasm for art and a desire to advance their artistic skills.
In this 8-week course we will be working to develop our individual skill sets and to also focus on each student's unique talents and goals as artists as we develop our personal styles and concepts that we want to express.
The course will start out with a focus on practicing and developing our drawing skills and improving our capability for realistic and three dimensional drawing and rendering. We will focus on traditional drawing skills such as drawing and shading 3-D objects from observation.
We will then work on developing our own designs and compositions through experimentation and expression of emotions through imagery while studying compositions and ideas from master painters and artists.
We will discuss how different themes, subjects and messages can be conveyed through composition and design.
We will continually progress towards creating an artistic composition through our own creativity as well as combining our newly developing skills to create a well thought out piece of artwork.
As students begin to develop their final composition, we will work on developing that composition to a level of finality, combining realism, color, and composition to create an artwork that each student can feel proud of.
