Class Experience

Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this class we will break down each week into various exercises and steps to help learners improve and understand realistic face and portrait drawing. We will discuss a variety of concepts relevant to realistic drawing such as basic shading techniques and understanding of light and shadow.
The classes will build as we focus on drawing the individual components of the face such as eyes, nose, and mouth and will then progress to demonstrate proper placement of the features when drawing a complete face and head.
We will also discuss how to begin to draw from observation and how this is helpful when drawing a portrait of a specific person such as a family member or actor, etc.
The classes will be broken down week by week as follows:
Week 1: Drawing Eyes
Week 2: Drawing Noses and Mouth
Week 3 : Drawing the Face and understanding Facial Proportions
Week 4: Drawing the Face at Various Angles
Week 5: Drawing from a Reference Photo
