Learn to Read With Bob Books Set 1: 1:1 Beginner's Phonics Reading Course

In this course, your child will learn to read using the popular Bob books series. Each lesson is designed to help your child practice letter sounds, blending sounds together to form words, and build confidence in their reading skills. Before enrolling, students should be familiar with most letter names and sounds, as the lessons will primarily focus on reinforcing these foundational skills to support reading progress.

Every week, we will read a new Bob Book together. I will share my screen, so there’s no need for you to purchase the book series. We will begin with Set 1: Beginning Readers, and gradually introduce new letters and sounds each lesson, building decoding and phonetic skills step by step. In addition to phonics, we will also focus on sight words, punctuation, and other key reading concepts. As this is a one-on-one class, I’ll tailor the pace to suit your child’s individual needs, ensuring they feel comfortable and confident as they learn.

To make the learning experience engaging and fun, I incorporate interactive slides, games, and activities that reinforce the words and sounds from each book. After reading, time permitting, we’ll play revision games and complete activities to solidify your learner's understanding of the new words and sounds.

In this supportive and relaxed environment, your child will not only improve their phonetic awareness and reading abilities but also develop a love for learning. I aim to make every class enjoyable by fostering a positive, encouraging atmosphere where your child can confidently share their ideas and thoughts. 

What is your approach as a teacher?
My approach with young learners is very patient and kind. I emphasize positive reinforcement as much as possible and let the students know that their hard work is paying off.  Throughout the class, students receive lots of praise—words like "Good work! You're doing great! Excellent job!"—to keep them motivated and confident in their progress.

What is my experience? 
I have over seven years of experience teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) to students abroad, working with a diverse range of age groups (3-13). Throughout my career, I have focused on helping students develop fluency and strong independent reading skills. Additionally, I hold a 120-Hour TESOL certification, which has further enhanced my ability to support learners in their language and literacy development.
