Express Yourself: 1:1 Full Sentence Speech Tutoring With Games, Stories & More!

In this one-on-one class, your child will enhance their communication skills by practicing full sentence speech, engaging in fun games, and participating in interactive storytelling. My aim is to foster expressive language development in a positive and supportive setting, using a range of activities that are personalized to your child's individual interests and needs.

What topics will be covered in class? 
Full Sentence Communication: A primary goal of this class is to help children express themselves clearly and confidently in full sentences. Through structured activities and guided practice, your child will learn how to form complete sentences, expand on their ideas, and communicate more effectively. This may entail:
1. Using sentence starters and prompts to encourage your child to respond in full sentences.
2. Repeating sentences modeled by myself and demonstrating correct language use. 
3. Expanding your learner's simple phrases into more complex sentences.
4. Practicing conversational skills. 

Games & Activities: Learning language is fun when we incorporate games and interactive play! I will use a variety of engaging games— including interactive activities—designed to promote language development in a natural way. These games may encourage your child to:
1. Answer questions and describe scenes, objects, and actions using full sentences.
2. Practice taking turns and fostering social communication skills.
3. Increase their vocabulary through word-building games.

Storytelling & Reading Together: Another key focus is developing storytelling skills. Through guided storytelling, your child will:
1. Practice sequencing events, describing characters, and expressing ideas clearly.
2. Develop comprehension skills by discussing story details and making predictions.
3. Look at story pictures, allowing them to build confidence in using full sentences to communicate their ideas and thoughts.

What's my teaching style?
My approach with learners is very patient and kind. I emphasize positive reinforcement as much as possible and let the students know that their hard work is paying off.  Throughout the class, students receive lots of praise—words like "Good work! You're doing great! Excellent job!"—to keep them motivated and confident in their progress.
