There will be no formal assessment for our Peter and the Wolf Ballet ClassClass Experience
Welcome to our Peter and the Wolf Ballet choreography class! Please read our entire class description: This one-time ballet class will give children an introduction to ballet positions, movements, and steps while learning ballet choreography to the "Duck" dance from Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf. This ballet class is great for children who: -Have taken beginner ballet class or have no dance experience -Love to dance, act, and perform around the house -Enjoy the music from "Peter and the Wolf" or have seen "Peter and the Wolf" live or in videos -Need a boost of confidence! -Could use improvement in posture, coordination, core strength, and flexibility (these are all benefits of ballet!) -Need a homeschool physical education activity -Need a before or after school activity This ballet class is open to all children: boys, girls, English language learners, and those who are neurodiverse. Please send me a message if your child requires any special accommodations. Students will be introduced to movements, steps, and choreography to the Duck dance from The Ballet Peter and the Wolf. We will use the Vaganova style of ballet in class. Each step can be easily modified based on each learner's abilities--don't worry, we are here to have fun! Class format: -Question of the Day that each child will have a turn to answer at the start of class: "Would you rather have a pet duck or a pet cat?" -Basic ballet stretches -Learn ballet steps to the Duck dance -Game (Ballet Freeze Dance) -Practice and "Perform" the dance -Closing Question: "What was your favorite part of today's ballet class?" Appropriate attire: -Comfortable pants/t-shirt -Leggings and a tank top -Leotard and tights Appropriate footwear: -Ballet slippers -Sneakers -Socks -Bare feet Classroom Page: I reccomend looking at the post on the classroom page 5-10 minutes before the start of class. I will post the "question of the day" before class and your child can prepare their answer before joining to relieve any anxiety. Always take a peek at the classroom page a few minutes after class, as well. I often post tips, videos, links to music used in class, or optional at-home extension ideas. If a family has any special needs, comments, or concerns before or after class they can feel free to send me a private message on Outschool and I will do my best to accommodate to your satisfaction within 48 hours. PS--age range is flexible--especially to accommodate siblings! #creative #superstar
