Welcome to our drawing class for 8-12-year-old students! Please bring pencils, markers, and a sketchbook or paper to class. Thank you! We will begin class by asking about their favorite anime character, to help students become comfortable in class! Next, we will discuss our objective, which is how to sketch anime hands. I will hold up an example that I've created, so students will understand the goal. Next, I will hold up my sketchbook and show students each step necessary to create this project. I will guide the students by emphasizing line, shape and form. We will use a variety of drawing techniques such as tonal sketching and blending. I will encourage them and help them build their confidence as artists. Next, students will share their completed projects with each other. I look forward to meeting you! *Please note that this is NOT a human anatomy class( I do have a class that is geared towards this). While anime refers to the human body, it is distinct from human anatomy. It is more imaginative and sometimes even exaggerates as well. Drawings still reference to the human hand, but are really exaggerated.
