Class Experience

If you desire to expand your art skills then you have landed on the right page! These classes will be curated for each individual student based on interests, needs, and levels. We will be able to explore a variety of different styles including realistic drawing, anime, pop art, procreate, watercolors and acrylics- it all depends on your learner's journey.

In each class, I will provide technical expertise and create alongside your drawer during each session. The whole aim is for each learner to not only acquire the skills needed to create artwork, but to make use of their own creative ideas as well. Students will be able to see what I am working on for the most part through the use of a second camera, and students will get the opportunity to share their work in progress throughout the class- and I will provide feedback as well.
Generally, the subject matter is decided by your learner, for each week, at least 48 hours in advance, but the earlier the better.

During drawing time, We will focus on various techniques including line, shape, texture, shape, value, and space just to mention a few. We will use a variety of samples including real objects, and photos, as well exploring techniques such as foreshortening, negative and positive space, and perspective! Depending on the student's needs and interests, the different subject matter will be suggested, but the student will get a chance to focus on their interests as well.

For Painting, we will be able to experiment with acrylics, watercolors, gouache, colored pencils, oil pastel, and fine point markers as well. I will provide techniques in blending, creating texture, and using different brush strokes to enhance each student's skills. We will also discuss how to hold brushes and take care of them, and of course the different brushes and brush strokes your learner can use. Depending on the student's level, we will explore various themes and subject matter. Students will also have a chance to choose their own subject matter as well!

For Digital Art,
We will mainly focus on Pro-create, Ibis paint, and Canva. We practice painting, drawing, sketching, and adding layers as well. On request, we can focus on fashion illustrations, textiles, and/or shirt designs. As mentioned above, students will be able to explore various themes as well!
I look forward to having your learner in class!

Hello there! I am passionate about teaching arts and craft to students between the ages of 6 - 11.
I have worked with youth for 9 years and my experience includes teaching English as a Second Language online and working in after-school programs. I have taught on a number of online tutoring platforms, such as Vipkid and Qkids. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing students progress from saying short phrases to full sentences and finally, to having full-blown conversations.
Additionally, I have also taught at a YMCA after school program where I planned various activities including arts and crafts. Activities included paper crafts, step-by-step fantasy drawings, animal-life drawings, paper-crafts puppets and other engaging projects! I believe that should be engaged, excited and follow their curiosities. My approach is very hands-on and interactive!

I completed a Bachelor of fine arts in visual arts at Sir Wilfred Grenfell College where I explored different mediums such as drawing, sculpture and performance art. During this period, drawing and sculpture was a major focus. I delved into different drawing techniques specifically related to the human body. I also explored sculpture using materials such as wood, ceramics and metal. I would love to teach these skills to students from all over the world! I believe in providing a creative environment where they can flourish.
In addition, I completed a Bachelors' degree in English Literature with a minor in Anthropology. I also received some credits for French. This degree has afforded me a number of skills including critical thinking, essay writing and creative writing. These skills will help me to communicate with students at all levels.

In my spare time, l am a bookworm, who loves listening to audio-books or reading books. This has been a life long hobby that began 25 years ago. Moreover, I love cooking, learning new languages and about other cultures as well! I am also very adventurous, I have done skiing on some of the great Canadian slopes on the east side!
