About the Class:

Are you ready to dive into the world of Korean language and culture? Skillabration’s Beginner Korean Lessons are designed to introduce upper elementary students to the basics of Korean while making learning fun and interactive. 

Whether you’re interested in K-pop, Korean dramas, or simply exploring a new language, this class will set you on the path to success.

What Will Be Taught?
-The Korean alphabet (Hangul)
-Basic greetings and introductions
-Everyday conversational phrases
-Korean culture and customs
- Korean vocabulary like food, family, adjectives, etcetera.

Class Structure
-Mini Lesson: Learn a focused concept with a clear presentation or video.
-Activity: Practice the concept with engaging games or interactive worksheets.
-Implementation: Use what you’ve learned in conversations and exercises with the instructor and classmates.

Teaching Style
Our lessons are structured and engaging, incorporating:
-Authentic video clips to bring Korean culture to life.
-Games to reinforce key concepts.
-Fun discussions to encourage participation.
-Conversational practice to build confidence.
-You’ll interact with the instructor throughout the lesson, ensuring plenty of opportunities to ask questions and practice in a supportive environment.

Week 1 (Jan 6): Korean Culture Introduction + Basic Greetings (Hello/Goodbye)
Week 2 (Jan 13): Mastering the Korean Alphabet (Hangul)
Week 3 (Jan 20): Hangul Review + Simple Words (Names, Objects)
Week 4 (Jan 27): Self-Introductions (Name, Origin, Age)

Semester Topics
Unit 1 (Weeks 1-4): Greetings, Hangul, and Introductions
Unit 2 (Weeks 5-8): Numbers, Time, and Basic Questions
Unit 3 (Weeks 9-12): Food Vocabulary and Dining Phrases
Unit 4 (Weeks 13-16): Directions, Locations, and Travel Vocabulary
