Interested in a hands-on approach to environmental science? In this 12 week course, you will be guided in the exploration of environmental concepts and sustainability while learning how the four spheres- biosphere, atmosphere, hydrosphere, and geosphere- interact to support life. You'll discover informative topics such as ecosystems, energy sources, natural resources, pollution, climate change, and environmental justice and how they impact our lives. Learning will be a combination of video support, interactive projects, real-world experiments and slides. You will gain an increased appreciation for environmental awareness while developing critical thinking skills related to case studies. Class topics and goals are published in the syllabus for each weekly meeting. Please reach out with any questions or concerns.
Learning Goals
-Understand Earth’s systems (biosphere, atmosphere, hydrosphere, geosphere)

Working as a geologist in the field of natural resources has given me the ability to objectively look at the pros and cons of each resource we use and how we potentially impact the environment regardless of the resource without unsustainable usage. I am also a homeschool mom and I am raising my own kids to appreciate and respect the world we live in.
