Students will improve their writing skills by following a structured format and learning to add style to their sentences. Students will gain confidence in writing. Students will grow their vocabulary. Students will improve their English grammar.

Homework Offered
Students will be assigned homework to complete after each class. This class will meet 2x each week, and students are expected to complete their homework between meeting days.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
This is not a graded class. However, students will be awarded points based on how complete their checklist is. Learners will turn in their homework, and I will provide feedback to them. Learner progress is assessed through the completion of assignments and participation in class.Grades Offered
Students should have a solid understanding of basic English grammar. Students should be able to form a complete sentence. Students should be able to read at a fifth grade level or higher.
The book required for this course is: IEW Wonders of Science Writing Lessons student book. https://iew.com/shop/products/wonders-science-writing-lessons-student-book-only Students will need a thesaurus. Students will need to be able to type their essays.

These should be saved as a PDF and uploaded in the classroom. At times, the Nearpod app will be used. Students will be given notice for class sessions that will utilize this.
