Students complete a pre-assessment which will be used to measure improvements in scores. Individualized practice exam questions will be used during sessions. An emphasis on problem solving and test-taking strategies are emphasized. Students engage with the tutor using a digital interactive whiteboard. Progress reports are provided after each tutoring session. Test timing will be included. Content covered for each is described below: High School Placement Test (HSPT) Part 1 Quantitative Sills Number series Geometric comparisons Nongeometric comparisons Number manipulations Part 2 Mathematics Concepts Problem solving Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) - Upper Division Part 1 Quantitative Reasoning Practice for this section of the test are based on the topics below. estimate numerical values employ logic to determine what a particular problem is about compare and contrast quantities analyze and interpret data analyze, compare, predict, draw conclusions, and summarize graphs use reason to calculate the probability of events understand concepts and applications of measurements know how to arrive at statistical solutions to problems that are given Part 2 Mathematical Achievement Practice for this section of the test are based on the topics below. Number and Operations Algebra Geometry Measurement Data Analysis and Probability, and Problem Solving Practice exam questions and homework for the ISEE are based on the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Standards. Note: Parents are encouraged to schedule at least 2 sessions per week for best results.
