How to Play the Recorder Flex Class!

Learn to play the recorder flute step by step in this engaging and flexible learning class! Follow along with Teacher Tammy as she demonstrates proper recorder fingerings and techniques! Teacher Tammy has been teaching elementary music and recorders for fourteen years! Play online music theory games each week to learn to read treble clef music! Enjoy access to Teacher Tammy’s subscription to the Recorder Monster online curriculum! Each week Teacher Tammy will record a video description of what to work on and links to a music theory game online and Recorder monster curriculum pages and songs. Students should practice at least three days a week for fifteen minutes! Students should turn in at least one recording of their playing and one picture of their music theory drawing practice. Students may turn in one video a week to receive feedback in their weekly playing. Students are required to also comment at least once a week on other student's playing videos or music theory work with either questions or positive comments to build the class community!
Week one:The how’s and why’s! Learn basic and proper recorder technique and your first song, Hot Cross Buns also known as Big Gross Bugs! Learn basic music theory skills with a music tech teacher online beginning music theory game! Discover the history of the recorder and your first three pitches, a, b, and g!
Week two: Review your first song and b, a and g pitches! Echo rhythms and pitches after teacher Tammy! Practice your second song, Gently Sleep also known as Monsters in The Moonlight! Play music theory rhythm games on music tech teacher online! Learn basic rhythms and your fourth pitch note, E!
Week three: Review songs and watch some examples of professional recorder players! Work on four pitch songs! Learn about and echo more difficult rhythms! Quiz yourself online to test your music theory skills with music tech teacher online games! Learn your fifth note, D!
Week four: Review known songs! Draw and guess music theory pitches and rhythms to help you read music along with Teacher Tammy! Learn your 5th and 6th pitches, c and high c!  Discuss your favorite songs to play and why with other students! 
Week 5: Decide on your favorite song to play and record it for the class or Teacher Tammy! Play a review music theory and recorder fact guessing game with other students! Listen to other students’ performances!
