Do you have a teen that craves to socialize with their peers? Whether you're an introvert or an extrovert, we all want relationships. Does your teen love travel, music, gaming, food, pets, nature, sports...etc? This social group is a place where your teen will be matched up with another teen with similiar interests! They will able able to converse about their favorite things with eachother in their own social discussion room. Match-ups will be based on your child's preferences, if any. Such as: - Interests - Introvert / extrovert - Age - and so on... We will occasionally rotate friends, if needed or desired. We will accomodate for circumstances, such as, someone not being able to attend a particular week by pairing up with another group. I will begin with some ice breakers and the discussions will be learner-directed. I will provide a guidance sheet prior to the first class to keep discussions flowing. The matched-up pairs will be placed into thier own topic discussion rooms where I will pop in and out of throughout class time to monitor, interact and guide. If your teen is shy, don't worry! If your teen doesn't want to interact and feels more comfortable just listening, that's alright! Your teen is welcome here!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Science from WGU
Hello!
I'm a lifelong learner and I have a passion for teaching. I've taught over 1,700 ESL (English as a Second Language) classes to students from around the world.
I've homeschooled my daughter for the last 5 years. Her curriculum consisted of college-prep classes.
I will be teaching a variety of classes on Outschool, such as book art, making homemade kefir from kefir grains, homemade yogurt and buttermilk, handwriting, biology, math, and history.
I graduated from WGU as a secondary biology teacher. I'm certified to teach biology to middle school and high school students. I've taught students from pre-k through 12th grade.
I think outside of the box and therefore when a student has a hard time grasping a concept, I can easily come up with another way to teach it to that student. I believe every child deserves a patient and understanding teacher because we don't all learn the same way or at the same pace.
Our family loves to travel and we especially love to go on cruises. We've been on a Disney cruise and swam with stingrays and dolphins!
It would be an honor to have you or your child in my class!
