Use coupon code SPITL7PCNH5 for $5 off your first class! Love Keepers? Is your family getting tired of hearing about Keepers all day, every day? No worries! This is the place for you! In this social club, we can't get enough of talking about Keepers! This is a social class! Which means YOU have the opportunity to talk, share your ideas, ask opinions, and compare theories. As the teacher, my goal is to let YOU learners engage among yourselves as much as possible! If topics stray away from Keepers, I'll guide us back to our main discussion to help us stay on track. Our goal is to give each learner opportunity to share their unique perspective. ***SPOILERS AHEAD - READ AT YOUR OWN RISK*** Did Alden lose some memories permanently? How many abilities does Sophie have? What's the deal with Tinker? Will they ever let a Talentless on the Council? Could a member of the Council be in the Neverseen? Is Kenric really dead? And what about Sophie's dad? Should we be concerned about who he is? Whose side is he really on? Can we trust Glimmer? What if Quinlin is also part of the Black Swan? Maybe he and Livvy actually have a lot in common...? Amy had remarkable stamina and skill in Atlantis...is there more to her story than meets the eye..... ***Please consult your learners' opinions on hearing spoilers, because it is likely they may hear some in our class.*** Students who have read the books will benefit the most from our class. Because this class is engaging and active, please note that there may be spoilers mentioned! Since many of our students have already read the entire series (at least once...maybe more!) learners may bring up topics from other books in the series further down the line. Students are welcome to bring their own copy of Keepers to class with them, just in case they'd like to reference it during class.
Learning Goals
Learning goals include allowing learners to build confidence as they share their ideas, opinions, and unique perspectives with the group.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
Common Sense Media rates this series as best suited for ages 9+. Included in this series are themes including the death of loved ones, separation from family, use of sedatives, and occasional violent attack from the "bad guys." The main character, and occasionally her friends, are kidnapped, restrained, and injured. Their body guards eventually train the teenaged elves to fight in a more military style that includes using throwing stars and daggers. There are some teen "crushes" included in the story line and several moments of hand-holding. The language is quite mild, including references to various types of feces (mostly as a part of elvin medical treatments) and the name of an alicorn, "Glitter Butt."
Supply List
Students are recommended to have their own copy of the books we will be discussing, but it is not required.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
