Class experience
Taught by a teacher with an MA in Jewish Studies, this beginner's level course is a fun introduction to writing the Hebrew alphabet in block print! If your students wants to learn to read Hebrew, it helps to know how to write it. In this fast-paced and fun class, we will practice writing the entire Hebrew alphabet, including final letter forms. Most days, we will cover around three-four letter forms. This class assumes some familiarity with the Hebrew alphabet. As we go, we will review...
•. Students will be introduced to the letters of the Hebrew alphabet in block print and will receive verbal and
visual instruction on how to write each letter
• Students will practice writing the letters of the Hebrew alphabet in block print
• Students will be introduced to one or more Hebrew vocabulary words for each letter
• Students will review the names of the letters of the Hebrew alphabet
• Students will review the sounds made by the letters of the Hebrew alphabet
• Students will have a chance to casually interact with peers around a shared learning goal
• Students will practice using their listening skills and their speaking skills (if they wish!)I have an MA in Jewish Studies from the University of Indiana-Bloomington, and have completed several other academic Jewish Studies and Religious Studies classes, at the graduate level. This includes more than two years of Biblical Hebrew, as well as several classes in Modern Hebrew. As a Hebrew school teacher, I have helped hundreds of students develop and improve their Hebrew reading skills, starting with the Hebrew alphabet.
